  • Mariah’s Studio accepts donations online or through the mail. Click the ‘donate’ button on the home page if you would like to donate online. Checks can be made out to Mariah’s Studio and sent c/o Jack Jensen, 19 Emma Lane, Gorham, Maine, 04038

  • Mariah’s Studio spends no more than 15% of its total contributions on fundraising and administration. A minimum of 85% of the revenue directly funds grants, fellowships and programs to serve individuals in the community.

  • Trauma experts believe that face-to-face support from others is the most important factor in recovery. The four major contributions of art therapy treatment to recovery are:

    -Reducing anxiety and mood disorders

    -Reducing behaviors that interfere with emotional and cognitive functioning

    -Externalizing, verbalizing, and resolving memories of traumatic events

    -Reactivating positive emotions, self-worth, and self-esteem

  • Not at all! While many therapists that use art therapy are themselves accomplished artists, clients need only to be willing to participate.
